How is card data protected?
FastBar is fully PCI compliant, and payments are processed by Stripe. Sensitive cardholder data is encrypted at the card reader and sent directly to Stripe, never touching FastBar's systems. Point-to-point encryption (P2PE) is available as an option.
What happens when the network goes down?
Devices switch to offline on their own when the connection struggles, keep taking payments, and sync automatically once it's back. We still recommend a good network for live reporting.

What if a device is lost?
You can easily sign it out remotely and clear all of its event data from the Event Control Center.
What hardware do we need?
FastBar runs on iPads or iPhones and uses Stripe Terminal card readers: Bluetooth readers, Tap to Pay on iPhone or Stripe's internet-connected readers. Add RFID readers if you use wristbands. Most customers get their hardware from us, but you're welcome to source your own.
